For your trade
Written for your trade, not for everybody.
A roofer and a clinic both want fewer missed calls, and they need almost nothing in common to get there. These pages are the difference, trade by trade.
- General contractors Most contracting shops do not have a software problem. They have a Tuesday problem, and software is the only thing that fixes a Tuesday.
- Roofers A roof leaks on a Sunday. Everything about how a roofing shop runs software follows from that one sentence.
- Painters Nobody has a painting emergency. That single fact separates this trade from almost every other one in the trades.
- Framing contractors Framing is a business-to-business trade wearing a residential trade's clothes, and almost every piece of standard advice gets it wrong.
- Flooring and tile A homeowner does not search for a flooring contractor. They search for the exact thing that is wrong with their bathroom.
- Concrete and masonry A pour is the one appointment in the trades that genuinely cannot be rescheduled by an hour.
- Plumbers There is no such thing as a plumbing lead that waits. There is only a plumbing lead that goes to the next number on the list.
- Electricians Half of an electrician's week is the work. The other half is the paperwork that proves the work was done properly.
- HVAC Every unit you have ever installed has a date on it. Most HVAC shops have never once used those dates.
- Landscapers Maintenance pays the wages every week. Installation pays for the year. They have almost nothing in common.
- Auto shops A contractor's constraint is crews. A shop's constraint is bays, and a bay cannot be scheduled by someone who has not decided to come in yet.
- Clinics In every other trade, a messaging list is an asset. In a clinic it is an asset and a responsibility, and the second half is the one that gets skipped.
